The world's oldest energy drink
Organic yerba mate; unsmoked, aged, small cut. Roughly the caffeine of a coffee, drunk the way South America has drunk it for four hundred years.
Organic at origin · No smoke, no ash · Delivered in 1–3 days
Pick your starting point.
Most people who give up on maté gave up because they started with the wrong thing. Start with the leaf if you already own a gourd, or take the kit and get everything at once.
Tea Bags
Mate in a sachet. No gourd, no technique — drop one in a mug and go. Where most people should start.
AED 45Starter Kit
Gourd, bombilla and a 250 g pouch. Everything the ritual needs in one box — and the best gift in the range.
AED 110Loose Leaf 250 g
The classic small cut. For a gourd, a French press or a thermos on the road. Around 12 sessions.
AED 45The question everyone asks
How strong is it, really?
About the same caffeine as a cup of filter coffee — but mate carries it alongside theobromine, the compound also found in cacao. That combination is why people describe mate as a longer, flatter lift rather than a spike.
Approximate caffeine per 240 ml serving. Mate varies with steep time and how many refills you pull from one gourd.
What's actually in the pouch
Three words on the label, and what each one means.
01
Organic
Certified organic at origin in Brazil. Grown without synthetic pesticides — which matters more than usual here, because you drink mate leaf-in-water with nothing filtered out.
02
Unsmoked
Most yerba is dried over an open wood fire and tastes of the smoke. Ours isn't. What you get is the leaf — green, grassy, clean — with no ashtray finish.
03
Aged
Rested after harvest instead of rushed to packing. Time rounds off the raw edge, so the first sip lands smooth rather than sharp.
Four steps, ninety seconds
How to pour it.
Mate looks complicated from the outside and takes about a minute to learn. This is the whole method.

One
Fill the gourd halfway to two-thirds with leaf, depending on its size.

Two
Tilt it, and wet the leaf with a splash of room-temperature water first. This is what stops it turning bitter.

Three
Push the leaf to one side so a small well opens up. Slide the bombilla in and leave it there.

Four
Pour hot water into the empty well — not boiling. Refill the same leaf ten times or more.
